Telling an AI "generate a persona for a college student" will only get you a generic template. High-quality output requires high-quality context constraints.
Three Key Constraints to Give AI
- Context Setting: Describe your product's industry, vision, and the core pain point it solves.
- Negative Prompts: Explicitly tell the AI what to avoid — for example, "do not rely on stereotypes" or "assume this user is financially independent."
- Granularity: Ask for specific daily habits, preferred apps and websites, and even the top three things that frustrate this person.
